HISTORY Runkeeper, a leading mobile running app, was founded in 2008 and one of the first apps available when the app store launched that year. ASICS Group acquired Runkeeper in March of 2016 as a piece of the brand’s 2020 growth plan to continue to drive global expansion and improve the Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) experience. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano", which when translated expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body."
